Ignite your creative side & portray your love for the annual burning of Zozobra! As the date draws near to torch Old Man Gloom, the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe will be celebrating all Zozobra-related artwork. This show will be the feature of The Santa Fe VIP’s PRIVATE PARTY FUNDRAISER “STUFF THE OLD MAN”. Your art will hang along side other local artist and the art of the great Will Shuster, the painter who created Zozobra!

To guarantee a spot in our art show, we ask that each artist complete a reservation submission via email describing the pieces to be submitted. Please have JPEG files of your artwork prepared to attach. Image size must be at least 1500 pixels on the longest side (but no larger than 3000 pixels). If you are looking to create installation work, please contact Scott Wiseman at firstname.lastname@example.org. Special consideration will be given to artwork that illustrates the 1930’s theme, which coincides with The Burning of Zozobra’s “The Decades Project.”

All artwork received through online submission is required to be dropped off by the artist at our gallery space in the Sanbusco Center at 500 Montezuma Ave (site of the old Border’s Bookstore.) Monday, August 30, 2015- 3 PM- 7PM: Last chance to pick up unsold artwork. Artwork that is not picked up will be considered property of the Santa Fe Kiwanis Club.
All artworks must be framed or have some other form of hanging device (wires or sawtooths) and arrive at Sanbusco Center ready to hang. Presentation is very important to us, so we want to encourage you to professionally prepare your art for the exhibition and sales. Other presentation items including business cards, 8 x 10’s, posters, prints are also acceptable.
Anyone may enter! We have no restrictions on age or artist location. Anyone in the world may enter. All we require is that artwork submitted must beoriginal and created by the person who enters the work. Entries previously submitted to the Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show are eligible for consideration if: A) They were not selected for exhibition, and B) The digital criteria defined above is met.
Entering artwork for consideration in our art show is free. There is also no limit to how many art pieces you may submit. We will show as many art pieces as will reasonably fit in our gallery.
The online submission must be received by 11:59 PM on Friday, August 21 MDT (New Mexico Time) to reserve a spot in the show. Email submissions should be sent to email@example.com with the requirements outlined above. The deadline to drop-off artwork is on Tuesday, August 25, 2015- 3 PM- 5 PM at Sanbusco center. Please refer to Calendar above for available drop-off times.
Final acceptance of entries in the Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show exhibition is at the curator’s discretion after viewing the delivered framed prints. If a print does not match the appearance of the JPEG entry, or if the print quality or the framing (presentation device) are not suitable quality for gallery presentation, the curator may ask the artist to replace whichever element is not suitable. This is going to be an excellent show, so we desire that all of the art be presented in a top-notch manner. Again, all artwork must be ready to hang or it will not be displayed.
Exhibited work will be available for sale (unless the artist designates certain entries NFS). The price for each framed print is at the artist’s discretion. Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show 2015 will retain a commission of 25% on all sales that occur during the exhibit or which occur later as a direct result of the exhibit. The balance will be mailed to the artist within 30 days of the closing of the show.
Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show 2015 carries no insurance for loss or damage to artwork in the gallery or in transit, nor assumes any liability for same. However, every precaution will be taken for the safety of the exhibited work. Artists should provide their own insurance coverage.
If you are an artist located out of Santa Fe and must ship your artwork, please contact Scott at firstname.lastname@example.org to make shipping arrangements. Entries which are accepted for exhibition must be shipped to Santa Fe (or delivered in-person) by Tuesday, August 25th, 2015. Entries must be packaged securely in a sturdy shipping box, even if the artist delivers his or her work in-person. Received work that is not sold must be shipped back at the artist’s expense, with shipping arranged by the artist (or picked up in-person) by Tuesday, August 25, 2014. The Santa fFe Kiwanis will retain all of theoriginal packaging box/materials in which the artist’s work is sent to us. If the work does not sell, we will re-use the packaging to send the work back to the artist.
Use of Images:
All entrants agree that any image they submit to the Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show 2015 may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to the Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show 2015. This use may include, but is not limited to, publication in any Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show 2015 printed materials, advertisements, electronic media, internet, television, catalog, DVD, magazine, gallery shows, and www.burnzozobra.com. Any image used by the Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show 2015 shall carry a credit line of the artist. Copyright and all other rights remain in the hands of the artist.
Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show 2015, its staff, Board of Directors and anyone connected to the exhibition will not be responsible for loss, damage, breakage or theft of artwork while at the gallery. Your entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with these terms and conditions as set forth in the prospectus.
Will Shuster’s Zozobra Art Show 2015 is part of the Burning of Zozobra, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe. Kiwanis is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities, resources, services to youth.
