Are you interested in a better future for Santa Fe? Here at Santa Fe Forward, we are. Santa Fe Forward is a non-profit, non-partisan civic engagement group. We believe that Santa Fe has the opportunity for a future that is as bright as the New Mexico sun and as grand as the mountains that surround our community, and we want you to be a part of it!
What We Do
Santa Fe Forward builds community power to create a more vibrant future for our community. Our goal is civic engagement. We want more people voting, more people participating, and more people paying attention to what’s going on in our city.
Let’s make sure the voice of our community is heard when decisions are made that affect the lives of Santa Feans and the future of the city.
Santa Fe Forward will sponsor community conversations, register voters, and keep you informed on the issues that matter in our community through online communications and in-person community organizing.
SantaFeForward.com is the place to stay up to date on the issues you care about, share your opinion with polls on the hottest current issues, get recaps on city council meetings, and make your voice heard. Please check out our current poll on the initiative to get reduced marijuana penalties on the ballot in November. What do you think about the initiative? Let us know!
Don’t forget to like us on Facebook, and please join us for a series of community conversations that we are hosting throughout the summer on some of Santa Fe’s most pressing issues.
July 22, 6pm at the Southside Library- 6599 Jaguar Drive, 87507
• Our Vote, Our Voice: a community conversation on voting rights and city services on the south side of Santa Fe- click for more info
o Especially after the recent annexation of 13,200 new residents in January, we now have disproportionate representation of residents and distribution of services throughout the city.
Did you know that the south side of Santa Fe has nearly double the number of voters per City Councilor as the rest of town?
o What services should the city provide on south side? How is the city going to pay for these services? What can be done to make voting easier?
o Share your opinions with Mayor Javier Gonzales and other community leaders
July 29th, 6pm at the Jean Cocteau Theatre- 418 Montezuma Ave
• Growing Santa Fe Young
o Join Game of Thrones creator George RR Martin, Mayor Javier Gonzales, Creative Santa Fe, Director Chris Eyre, Daniel Werwath, Shannon Murphy (AHA), and Zane Fischer (Anagr.am) to discuss jobs, nightlife, the creative economy, affordable housing, and the path forward for retaining and bringing in the next generation of Santa Feans
Did you know that the majority of Santa Fe’s workforce is over 55 years old? The city faces a crisis in the next 10 years if we don’t address this.
• Solarize Santa Fe
o Keep tuned for more information on a conversation about the best way forward to add more solar power and more green jobs in Santa Fe.
