The Convergence Project is currently organizing the third annual “Oasis Festival”, which will feature Overcoats and performances from local teen musicians, bands, and singers. The festival takes place on Saturday May 26 at 5:30 pm to 10 pm in the Railyard by the water tower.
Overcoats, while making music as a minimalistic electronic-pop duo, draw influences from other genres such as folk and bluegrass. Seven Days, an independent music blog, described the duo as making, “Soulful, folk-tronic tunes”
As well as the music, there will be additional performances from Wise Fool New Mexico, as well as a “dance surprise” from NDI. There will also be a chalk art competition that is co-sponsored by Violet Crown that will have multiple prizes that include cash and Convergence Project Merchandise.
