Let’s welcome the New Year together in City Different Style! Round up your family, friends and visitors to welcome the New Year to Santa Fe, New Mexico on Monday, December 31, 2018.
Be part of the fun as the City Different says Adios to 2018 at the Fourth Annual FREE New Year’s Eve on the Santa Fe Plaza.
The festivities begin at 9:30 p.m., with the Plaza warmed by stationary heaters and cozy piñon bonfires scenting the night air with an unmistakably comforting New Mexican fragrance.
Fun Adixx will fill the Santa Fe Bandstand with upbeat and cheerful sounds to keep the crowd rocking until New Mexico music legend Alex Maryol and his band take the stage to heat up the night!
The Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe will provide hot chocolate and bizcochitos (New Mexico’s official state cookie), along with a memorial banner for all to write down their hopes and dreams for a Prospero Año Nuevo in 2019.
Food trucks will be onsite to satisfy your end-of-year cravings.
Santa Fe’s new Mayor Alan Webber has a surprise in store for midnight, when we say hello to 2019ǃ
At 11:45 p.m., Mayor Webber and city officials will welcome the crowd to begin the countdown to a peaceful and prosperous new year.
In recognition of Santa Fe’s signature status as The City Different, nothing dropsǃ When the traditional countdown ends, a Zia symbol crafted by a traditional Spanish colonial artisan will be raised at the stroke of midnight.
And in an exciting new addition, the night sky overhead will blaze up with a festive fireworks display launched form Santa Fe’s oldest and most historic hotel, La Fonda on the Plaza!
We’ll welcome the New Year to Santa with the age-old songs, Auld Lang Syne and Las Mañanitas, sung in a spirit of unity to say Bienvenidos 2019ǃ
ALL ARE WELCOMEǃ Please dress warmly and bundle up the kids for this uplifting, family-friendly tradition in America’s oldest capital city. https://santafe.org/NYE/
