Way back in 2016 we launched the Indigenous Comic Con. Our goal was to create an event that would showcase the incredible work Native and Indigenous creators in the world of pop culture.
Three years later, we are expanding throughout Downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico and bringing even more fun and excitement to the land of enchantment!
IPX is the perfect chance to explore Native pop culture, media, food, music, networking, parties, vendors and showcases.
Multiple locations in downtown Albuquerque provide a perfect backdrop to experience the future of Native culture while understanding the past.
The Innovation HQ is the place to start at IPX. It’s the headquarters for the entire festival and will also showcase our technology workshops, imagination stage and gaming center all as part of our Indigenous Futurisms Days. Innovation HQ is also where conversations and meet ups with Indigenous entrepreneurs will take place.
The Food & Health Zone will showcase the talents of three incredible Native chefs over the course of the week. The zone will also host conversations around health, cooking workshops and demos, and workshops on community sustainability.
The Film & Media is woven throughout the festival and is a highlight of Native pop culture film, television, and media. Featuring films that explore underrepresented genres of action, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror, the Film & Media Day is a chance to meet guest stars, make professional connections, and enjoy cutting-edge films and programs as part of the festival.
Our Comic Con will once again focus on comics and pop art as a one-day, winner take all event. Great for families to explore the many vendors and meet and greet our special celebrity guests.
Finally, our Music Specials feature Native music and creativity throughout the festival.
