Dear Friends of 315 Restaurant & Wine Bar, Frog’s Leap wines are legendary. Since 1988, this acclaimed Napa Valley winery has been farming organically and it’s s one of the first wineries to power its entire operation with the energy of the sun. And because owner John Williams believe that most of the world’s great and historic wines have been made from non-irrigated grapevines, Frog’s Leap farms all of its vineyards without irrigation.
Frog’s Leap varietals are distinctive in that they truly reflect their soil, climate and circumstance—their “terroir”—and the grapes’ natural beauty shine through. “We don’t make great wine, we grow it,” is the motto here.
Sample these outstanding wines and see the difference yourself during our Frog’s Leap Day Dinner on Monday, February 29 at 7 pm.
The four-course, prix fixe dinner pairs 315’s award-winning fare with some of Frog’s Leap’s top recent pours, including a 2013 Chardonnay served with a Salmon & Scallop Escabeche app. The second course features a hearty Winter Spice Lamb Ravioli paired with a 2013 Merlot, followed by Beef Wellington served with 1 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon.
For dessert, I’ve planed a cheese plate featuring Cowgirl Creamery and Devil’s Gulch with challah pain perdue and pepper jam. We’ll pair that with a 2013 Zinfandel that will knock your socks off.
