So here’s the real deal I haven’t been blogging too much because my life is a little crazy but I want to continue to make myself accountable. When I first began the blog I was already about 25 days in now I’m already 43 days away of 100 days of doing this whole fitness and lifestyle of eating better change.
So to get myself up to date let’s begin from Week 3 and 4. Every morning as I got up to go to the gym I noticed that it became easier and easier. In fact most of the time I wake up before my alarm goes off. I also have found that I must go to bed at a decent hour like 10:30 or 11 pm. That doesn’t always happen for me but in order for me to have that natural energy I need sleep.
Food hasn’t been too much of a challenge. I keep protein filled snacks with me like nuts, jerky, and protein shakes when I’m in a bind or need to have something quick and easy. I do drink alot of water at least 64oz a day. But let’s be real that doesn’t always happen. I avoid cokes and other high sugary drinks. I am a carb girl and I wouldn’t cut out carbs completely but what I have been doing is cutting down my intake of carbs. For example if I eat a sandwich at Subway I choose the wheat bread and eat only one side of the bread. I love breakfast burritos but now when I get a burrito I will usually select one packed with eggs and some type of meat. I typically will share a full burrito with a friend or I will open up the burrito, eat the contents and have a few bites of the tortilla to get that burrito fix. By all means this not a specific diet but I’m just monitoring my food intake and watching what I eat. I also keep snacks like grapes and cherries to help me kick the 3pm snack craving. The great thing is I never feel hungry as long as I have my 3 meals and 2 snacks which is for me basically 5 snack sessions throughout the day.
As for the gym I try to do Cardio everytime I go. I like the Elliptical machine and the 30 minute workout at Planet Fitness. I am also looking into starting up Yoga and some sort of fitness dance class. When I can’t make it to the gym I try to at least get in 10,000 to 12,000 steps that day. This was easy to do especially during the Santa Fe Fiesta, there are many events I attend so walking was a must.
