Mark your calendars for the second annual Bear Festival! This event will happen on Saturday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The nature center will host this event alongside the Land of Enchantment Wildlife Foundation.
You will be able to learn more about the amazing bears that we share our home with at this event and better understand what we can do to make sure we both humans and bears stay safe. This event is free to attend and is open to the public.
Stay tuned for more details about activities that will be available at this year’s festival.
We are celebrating black bears all week long at the nature center! Check out our other bear-themed programs:
August 21: A Cub’s Life — Hear from wildlife biologist Daryl Ratajczak and learn about the life of a black bear cub, from the moment its born in a darkened den to its first steps as an independent yearling bear.
August 24: Eat Like a Bear Buffet Dinner — Join PEEC and the Land of Enchantment Wildlife Foundation to eat like a bear! This buffet dinner will feature food that is a part of a black bear’s diet and will be both educational and delicious. Registration for the dinner is required.
