2018 is flying by, and before we know it, Zozobra will make his dramatic return to Santa Fe in 1960’s style! Also known as “Old Man Gloom,” this towering villain has a sneaky way of coming back, much like the nagging worries that haunt our lives. As an artist, this only means one thing: It’s time to start producing more artwork in the image of the Santa Fe icon we love to hate. As the date draws ever-closer to Old Man Gloom’s fiery demise, the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe wants to celebrate with your Zozobra-related artwork at the 6th Annual ZozoFest. We are actively seeking submissions to fill our exhibition space, located adjacent to Old Man Gloom, himself, at Santa Fe Place Mall! Artwork honoring the colorful artistic aesthetic of the 1960’s will be given preference. So turn on your Jimi, Janis, Doors, Grateful Dead, Beatles and Jefferson Airplane records and pull out the paint brushes!
You are receiving this email because you have participated in ZozoFest or a Zozobra Art Contest in the past, and you are always among the first I’ll invite to display artwork at the next Zozobra Art show, which will be held at Santa Fe Place Mall on August 24-26. It was an exciting event last year, and an estimated 17,000 people came through the mall that weekend and art sales were strong. Who knew Zozobra was such a collector item?! Lets keep fanning the flames and impress Santa Fe with another outstanding show.
