Historic Santa Fe Foundation (HSFF) is delighted to host an opening and exhibition for Zozobra Invades Canyon Road, a three-week display of Zozobra-related artworks in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe. This show will be an extension of Zozofest that will be at Santa Fe Place Mall from Friday, August 24 through Sunday, August 26, 2018 as part of the activities surrounding the annual burning of this Santa Fe icon. The Foundation will extend the show by hanging some selected pieces in HSFF’s El Zaguán sala on Canyon Road. HSFF’s curated exhibition will open on Friday, September 7 from 5-7pm, coinciding with the beginning of Fiestas de Santa Fe, and continue through September 28, 2018.
We will have more information in the upcoming days about the exhibition and featured artists, but make sure to mark your calendar for the opening night. We may have original art for sale and will have T-shirts, posters and Zozobra-related merchandise in the HSFF gift shop. We also welcome all visitors to add your own notes at the foot of a miniature version of Old Man Gloom that will be part of the exhibition. All messages will be burned in the full-sized monster as part of the 2019 ceremonies. Come be part of this annual Santa Fe tradition.
Normal shop and gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm. For more information on the history of Zozobra, this year’s festivities or to purchase tickets, visit burnzozobra.com.
