Once again, as Fine Art collectors & enthusiasts from around the world gather in Santa Fe, New Mexico this August they will have the unique opportunity to experience the sixth official 'Sovereign Santa Fe' 2025 (SSF2025) group art expo.

Sovereign Santa Fe, is a free admission Contemporary Native American Arts Exhibition, showcasing cutting edge indigenous creativity. Sovereign’s mission is to create a platform to highlight ‘NewSchool’ Native American Arts & its elusive relationship between traditional and contemporary. Established to give vibrant Native American artists an on-trend platform to showcase & share their accomplished works & talents.

Organized by FaraHNHeight Fine Art, taking place at La Fonda on the Plaza in The Lumpkins Ballroom & Mezzanine above the Hotel Lobby, SSF fosters a community of forward-thinking living & working Contemporary Native Fine Artists.

SSF2025 is an interactive experience, that allows visitors to view and experience contemporary native artist works, including but not limited to: Nicholas Galanin, Zoe Urness, Jesse Raine Littlebird, Carly Treece, Craig George, Kylie ThunderHawk, Rico Worl, True Archdale, Micah Wesley, Derayna DeClay, Roland Van Loon, Celeste Worl, Bobby HealingWolf, & many other exceptionally talented creators.

This year, Sovereign Santa Fe 2025 is elated and honored to be platforming four independent Contemporary Native Fine Art exhibits, guest curated by established artist/creatives and their fellow compatriots. These four unique exhibitions will showcase the diverse geographical & cultural range of traditions, beliefs, and expression in Contemporary Native Americana today. In conjunction with the established SSF programming of years past, these Fan-tastic Four Exhibits enhance and diversify for a more dynamic and immersive experience.

* “Sky Carriers / Tide Makers”; Guest curated by Nicholas Galanin (Tlingit/Unangax̂): ‘Sky Carriers / Tide Makers’ exhibit features artists Lee William Burkhart III (Tlingit), Samuel Sheakley (Tlingit), & Erin Ggaadimits Ivalu Gingrich (Koyukon Dene/Iñupiaq). Together these artists present sculptural & material practices grounded in profound relational knowledge. Together, their works trace dynamic pathways across land & sea, across memory & presence. Together, Burkhart, Sheakley, & Gingrich offer sculptural & material testimony to the lands & beings with which they are in relation. Their works are at once offerings & declarations of presence, of persistence, & of transformation. Sky Carriers / Tide Makers is not simply a presentation of artworks; it is a call to recognize the elemental forces that shape Indigenous futures, already unfolding.

* “Echoes of Thunder & Tide”; Guest curated by Zoë Urness; ‘Echoes of Thunder & Tide’ brings together three contemporary Tlingit artists whose clan identities; Thunderbird, Killer Whale, & Sockeye, merge to shape the identity of the collection. Through photography, sculpture, painting, & jewelry, these artists explore the relationships between land, water, & the stories carried within them. Zoë Marieh Urness is a Tlingit & Cherokee photographer whose powerful portraits document contemporary Indigenous life to emphasize that “we are here, and we are thriving”. Rico Lanáatʼ Worl, a Tlingit/Athabascan artist & social designer, was born in Anchorage, Alaska, He belongs to the Raven House of the Lumax.ádi. Celeste Worl is a Tlingit multimedia artist, DJ & producer. She has traveled & lived around the globe while sharing her art with collectors and communities.

* “Historia”; Guest curated by Jesse Raine Littlebird (Laguna/Kewa Pueblo) & Kukani Gallery’ ‘Historia’ is a bold reexamination of American history through the eyes of four Indigenous artists. The exhibition brings together works by Huitzil Bennett Perez (Latina), Jade Leyva (Mexica), Elwyn Shorthair (Dinè), & Jesse Littlebird; each offering a perspective that challenges dominant narratives & centers stories often pushed to the margins. Through imagery rooted in memory, land, & resistance, Historia confronts the foundations of the US, inviting viewers to see history not as a fixed account, but as a living, evolving truth shaped by many voices. The exhibition brings together powerful imagery that moves between the symbolic & the historical, touching on themes of colonization, survival, migration, ceremony, & the resilience of identity. In addition to the original works on display, Historia will feature a limited-edition catalogue & a especial print drop. This curated collection invites reflection, conversation, & a reimagining of the past through the lens of those who have lived it longest.

* “Keepers Of The Land”; is a multimedia collaborative fine art exhibit featuring contemporary Native American artists from Oklahoma. This year’s exhibition explores the rich, enduring connection between Indigenous people & the land- spiritually, physically, and emotionally, across past, present, & future generations. Through a diverse range of mediums, artists interpret what it means to be a keeper of the land, celebrating themes of Indigenous preservation, ecological stewardship, and ancestral legacy. New this year: Signed copies of U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo’s newest releases will be available at the exhibit, including “Washing My Mother’s Body: A Ceremony for Grief,” her powerful new work that honors loss and healing, featuring illustrations by celebrated artist Dana Tiger. * “Sovereignly Fit” is a ticketed two-night Contemporary Native Fashion extravaganza showcasing the distinctiveness of Indigenous designers. Celebrating the strength, diversity, & resilience of Indigenous culture & couture, “Sovereignly Fit” strives to platform up & coming along with established creatives. The group fashion exhibition will take place in the Lumpkins Ball Room at La Fonda the evenings of Friday 15th & Saturday the 16th. Doors open at 6:30pm - 7:45pm Cocktail Hour & Shopping. Runway Shows Begin 8:30 - 9:30. Designer Meet & Greet & Shopping till 10:30pm. Designers, collaborates and creatives to be announced.
