ORIGINAL NEW JAZZ - Chris Jonas, Dan Pearlman, Lee Steck, Noah Baumeister and Dave Wayne

Starting out over a decade ago in Santa Fe as a jazz cover band dedicated to the musical legacy of Ornette Coleman, the members of OrnEtc turned to playing their own compositions. These striking and engaging original pieces will be front and center during this performance by an incredible group of musicians: Chris Jonas on saxophones, Dan Pearlman on cornet, Lee Steck on vibraphone, Noah Baumeister on bass, and Dave Wayne on drum set.

The music of OrnEtc honors ancestral sources via their dedication to the iconoclasm of those who came before them: Musical legends like Wayne Shorter, Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus and Ornette Coleman. The music of Ornette Coleman was a tremendous breakthough when it first came out in 1958, and its ability to get out of the box is just as important today.
