Journaling Through Watercolor

Date: Sunday 7th – Wednesday 10th

Time: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM (1 hour break for lunch)

Location: 715 Camino Lejo

Cost: $400

Participants will use a journal and a limited pallet of fourteen paints, with only a few brushes, learn how to capture manageable subjects such as landscapes, southwest gates, ristras, entryways, or beautiful adobe buildings. Participants will also create notes on color mixes, location, time of day and the information of the subject just painted. This allows individuals to travel and create, come back to the studio and complete a finished piece. Or just finish up your journal for your own enjoyment.

This class will cover, color theory, value study and one-point and two-point perspective. This class is for beginners to intermediate, even if you haven’t painted before you will really enjoy this class.

About the Artist:

Antonio Darden is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Western Federation Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Alabama and New Mexico Watercolor Society. Antonio is an avid plein air and Studio painter, building on the foundations of composition, value and local color and continuing to experiment and hone his personal style. Daily life drawing and plein air painting and studying from many renowned artists have elevated his technique in watercolor.
