The holidays aren’t supposed to stress you out so much as reminding you to appreciate what you already have and spend time with family.
I’ve learned over this past pandemic shutdown was what was REALLY important.
The lighting of the Santa Fe Plaza Christmas lights was a time old tradition that seems to be lost on a lot of old school Santa
Feans of color. I want to remind them that it is their unique light that shines so bright that brings people to Santa Fe, like the lights in the trees.
Our little city has seen such destruction and the division this past year and the ugliness of money in politics but ‘We The People of Santa Fe’ will prosper and rise like we have before, kinda like the holidays. They come and go as does everything else.
This will mark the first year without the 153 year old obelisk…weird!
Let’s not forget who we are as people with this unique culture that created and survived for over 400 years in this very villa. Let’s come together and celebrate this age old holiday season on our plaza and keep our traditions alive, see our family and our friends.
Farolitos will be lining the plaza, please be mindful of them.
Santa and Mrs. Clause will be making their appearance and taking wishes from the kids.
The Girls Scouts will on the plaza selling cookies and hot chocolate
Be mindful of your trash, use your own cups that you can take back home and use trash cans. Everyone in this town likes to say they are about saving the earth, now’s your chance!
