If you haven’t stayed up past 9 PM since your kids were born, this is the gathering for you. It’s safe to say a lot has changed in the 12 years since the SOV Valentines party was created. Our younger selves, ravers throwing warehouse parties, have transformed. The current needs are musical experiences the whole family can enjoy. We are happy to announce that Skylight Santa Fe will host The SOV Start’em Young Rave’em Right family friendly, all ages’ party on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 6 PM – 9 PM. This early dance session precedes Sex on Vinyl – The Healing Ground which is the main event for the night, (21+).
This is an opportunity for families to enjoy some incredible house music in the early hours of the night. Stadenco (NYC) and Melanie Moore are parents of toddlers, and they are no strangers to family dance sessions in the comforts of home. Santa Fe legend Oona Bender is also in this mix from start to finish, and there will be an appearance by Emi Arte Flamenco. The Skylight Kitchen will serve their famous pizza with a mock tail bar for the youngsters.
Some of our favorite local health and wellness providers Mountain Spirit Integrative Medicine, Balance Point Therapeutics and Undisputed Fitness will be on hand to share info about services for individuals and families alike.
Proceeds from SOV merchandise sales and a portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the American Brain Tumor Association in the honor of one of our heroes, Wendy Herm. Wendy is a longtime friend and music collaborator from New York, and she is among 700,000 Americans fighting this affliction. Founded in 1973, the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) was the first and is the only national advocacy organization committed to funding brain tumor research all age groups. Please join me in shining the light on the importance of this organization. www.abta.org
