The 402nd Annual Cleaning of the Acequia Madre will be held on Saturday, April 28th! Come out and support your community and get a free lunch for your efforts! Meet at 8:30 AM in front of Acequia Madre School to join this worthy cause and historic annual event. Back in the day it was a prestigious thing to be the mayordomo or ditch cleaner. The most important job in the community was keeping the water ways and channels open, clean and clear of debris to ensure drinking water and water for the gardens and orchards where reached to their designated farms and gardens.

Appeal for support for Hogle’s Theatrical Supplies
For over 30 years, Dick and his wife Mogi Hogle, original owners of Hogle’s Theatrical Supplies, worked tirelessly to provide equipment and expertise (often discounted or donated), for every rock concert, local film, theater, dance recital, and benefit performance in the area. Any person, who has enjoyed a music concert or dance performance in Santa Fe in the past 30 years, has probably benefited from Dick’s professional expertise, technical equipment and generosity. Through the years, the Hogles employed many local people and served as a friendly professional asset to our community.
Although Dick and Mogi retired a few years ago and sold their business, they now find themselves financially liable after the business, under new ownership, went bankrupt. A number of friends from the northern New Mexico’s arts community who are grateful for all Dick and Mogi have done, are coming together to help the Hogles meet their financial obligations resulting from the closing of Hogle’s Theatrical Supplies.
We are conducting a benefit raffle and are producing a fundraising and tribute event on May 19th, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 at El Museo Cultural in the Santa Fe Railyard.
We kindly ask for the compassion and care of our communities, to assist the Hogles with legal fees and to honor and uplift Dick and Mogi in this time of crisis.
You can assist in the following ways:
If you are a performer, consider offering up a performance during the May 19th event.
To do so, email Dick at dick.hogle@gmail.com. We request that you let us know if you wish to perform by close of business, Friday, April 20th.
Consider providing an item, such as comp tickets to a performance, passes to a workshop or gift certificates to a restaurant, to the benefit raffle being conducted. To contribute a raffle item, contact Mikki Anaya at mediaoffice@newmexico.com. Items will be accepted until Monday, May 14th. The drawing will take place during the May 19th event.

Santa Fe Prom Closet
The Santa Fe Prom Closet is collecting new or gently used formal wear to benefit Santa Fe junior and senior boys and girls who may not be able to afford the cost of buying new outfits to attend prom.
Now in it’s third year, the prom closet is a service learning project run by students at Santa Fe Preparatory School. Each year, the project collects formal wear then holds “boutique” days, where students can come shop the donations in search of something to wear to the big dance.
Donations of men’s and women’s formal wear, shoes and accessories can be left at Pak Mail, 369 Montezuma Ave., or at Santa Fe Preparatory School, 1101 Camino de Cruz Blanca, or at La Unica Cleaners, 647 Cerrillos Road.
This year’s boutique days will be held March 31 and April 1, 14, 15 and 21 in the office of Dr. Theodore Cho at 2216 Brothers Road, Suite B.
The closet is in particular need of small and large sizes.
