Lunch at SLURP! By Kate Kennedy
Slurp is Santa Fe’s only airstream eatery. They offer 3 soups daily including one vegetarian option. Also on the menu is a pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese as well as desserts, coffee drinks and sodas and breakfast items. They are open from 7:30am-3pm Monday thru Friday. They are located in a refurbished 1967 airstream in a parking lot at 444 Galisteo Street across from the State Capital Parking entrance (heads up that part of Galisteo is a one-way.) Everything is under $10 and it comes in earth-friendly containers and brown bags with super cute decorations. Menu options are released on Facebook each day and make sure to keep your eyes open for specials.
I recently went on a spontaneous lunch adventure with the girls from work. The high for that day was 24 and we were on a mission to solve our Monday blues with something cozy. The soups were curried coconut cauliflower, potato, leek, and bacon, and chicken green chile. We each ordered a different soup and loved them all. I got the curried coconut cauliflower and a half of a pulled pork sandwich. The combination was fantastic and the Sage Bakehouse bread used for the sandwich was a nice surprise. In addition to their tasty options they were offering a 10% discount to anyone who brought their own container that day!
Slurp is a desk-jockey’s dream if you are looking for something fast, affordable and convenient if you work downtown, go to Slurp you wont be disappointed. It is soon to have a huge lunch following so take early orders from your fiends and stop by before the line gets long.
