Dining at Little Tony’s restaurant review

Dining at Little Tony’s by Victor Romero

Little Tony’s is Santa Fe’s newest restaurant to emerge in the city different. Located at 945 West Alameda in the Solana Center tucked in the corner by the laundry mat.  Offering a traditional taste of Italy, Little Tony’s simple and well-rounded menu allows you to taste a tour of Italy.

This cozy bistro style restaurant is very welcoming, cozy and smells like heaven. Sounds of Italian music are softly played to enhance your dining experience but have no fear for there are 2 55” HD televisions for those special nights for pizza, pasta and sports for all you die hard sports fans.

Another attraction besides the most delicious food is the free Wi-Fi for all of us geeks who need to be online 24/7.  Everything on the menu is priced perfectly for the servings you get, which are generous.

I just finished lunch with my sister and nephew and we decided to try various items to get our taste buds saturated with the goodness of Italian cooking. My sister, whom I think makes some of the best pasta in my family, was gong to be the perfect lunch mate and toughest critic around.  Starting with the deep fried mozzarella (for my nephew) was a good appetizer with an amazing marinara sauce on the side. After the appetizer out came the salad which was perfectly light and flavorful with a house made Italian dressing.

The entries that came out were piping hot, very picturesque and very generous. The plate of spaghetti came with 2 enormous meatballs that were delicious!

My sisters “Old Country” panni was not only generous it was delightfully flavorful. Filled with roasted turkey, roasted red peppers, Roma tomatoes, Bermuda onions, provolone cheese with a perfect honey Dijon aioli served along side with a side of crispy onion rings. I had to steal a bite from her because she wasn’t offering any up (what’s with that sister)? Glad I did too, that was an amazing bite of the panni.

I opted for a pie, Tony’s Supremiano (to be exact), which I have to say, is now officially my favorite pie in the city different! The crust is perfectly crisp. The flavors of all the meats and veggies on the pie work in prefect harmony! Best Pie in town!

Little Tony’s is an Italians home away from home and now home for many Santa Feans.  It’s affordable, convenient and just off the plaza. Plenty of room, plenty of parking, plenty of pasta! See you at Little Tony’s!

Starting on Tuesday January 18th, Little Tony’s will be serving beer and wine to compliment you meal.
