In 1990 Totemoff’s was named after Peter Totemoff, an Aleut Indian from Alaska. He moved to New Mexico in the 1940′s to recover from tuberculosis, and worked at this mid-mountain facility when it was known as the Sierra Lodge. Mr. Totemoff was highly instrumental in the development of the ski industry in New Mexico. Note: overnight facilities are not available at Totemoff’s.
