Anywhere around the world people know about Santa Fe but I always found it more interesting when 90% of them ask me about the The Pink Adobe!
The Pink was established in 1944 by Rosalea Murphy (Painter/Chef) in order support her painting habit Rosalea opened the Pink Adobe so she could follow another passion and that was to cook, to gather and feed herself!
Since its humble beginnings serving Dobe Burgers, French onion soup, and hot apple pie, the Pink Adobe has grown into a local and national and international landmark.
The Pink is located in the center of the historic Barrio de Analco (the oldest part of our city) across the street from the San Miguel Mission, the oldest church in the United States.
Inside an almost 400 year old adobe, which supposedly was the barracks for Don Diego’s troops upon their bloodless re entry to Santa Fe, in the early 1600′s!
The restaurant was given its name by Rosalea because of the rose color of the historic, almost 400 year-old house that is home to the Pink.
Popular amongst the artistic crowd, food enthusiast and many of the locals of Santa Fe.
