Santa Fe is famous for its healthy living thanks to our highly organic and alternative lifestyle. The slow food movement has come here to retire because we have been organic for years (some say because we were too destitute to afford fertilizer).
All joking aside, Santa Fe is a health conscious community that prides itself on our unwavering support of local farmers and ranchers. Our highly popular Farmer’s Market was named one of the “Top Ten Farmers’ Markets” by Sunset Magazine, and is one of the oldest, largest, and most successful growers’ markets in the country that serves more than 150 farmers and producers in 15 Northern New Mexico counties.
Santa Fe also has a reputation for having the most “body workers” than anywhere in the U.S. Offering world class bodywork from Sweden, Thailand, Hawaii, Japan, and South America to name a few. Treatments offered here range from Hot Stone Massage and Shiatsu all the way through Acupuncture and Cranial Sacral Energy work. And if working out is more your fit, visit any or our public or private workout facilities that start out for the two-time-a-weekers all the way up to competitive bodybuilders.
And as mentioned in the highly popular 1,000 Things to do Before You Die book series, we can’t leave out our transformative hot springs at 10,000 Waves (the only authentic Japanese Spa House in the United States) and the awe-inspiring Ojo Caliente.
The old staples are here as well – enjoy bike riding, white water river rafting, hiking for beginners and those that have seventeen hours to kill, mountain climbing, boating, swimming, or just good old fashioned walking! Don’t forget those trendy workouts like Kettle Bell, Cross Fit and one of my favorites Fitness Bootcamp. The amazing weather in all four seasons is ideal for enjoying physical and relaxing treatments all year round!
Live Long and Prosper!
