Born June 26, 1977 in the shadows of the Brazos Peak in the small New Mexico pueblo of Tierra Amarilla, Diego was inspired by Nature at an early age.
Surrounded by religious icons, altarios and velitas, he remembers blissfully falling asleep and awakening to the soft lullaby of his grandmother praying the Rosario and petitioning her Santos to protect her family and home. Whether painting on a canvas, sculpting and molding clay or wax, or freeing a Santo trapped in wood, he experiences focused, meditative concentration. It is in this state he is most calm and at peace.
It is his one desire and wish that those with whom he shares his Art can experience the tranquility and contemplative spirit in which each unique piece is created.
